Young Men's Christian Association
Colorado Springs, Colo. August 5th, 1901

To the Board of Directors of the Colorado Springs Young Men's Christian Association.
Greetings:

The directors and trustees, through their Recording Secretary, send greetings to you through the medium of the "Century Chest" to be sealed this fifth day of August, A.D. 1901.

At our Board meeting this afternoon, to be held in our old quarters on Bijou Street facing the North Park, will complete our plans for the ceremony of the laying of the corner stone of our new Association Building, corner Nevada Ave., and Bijou, Saturday afternoon August 10th, by Vice-President Roosevelt.

By referring to the Association records you will find that we have labored long and arduously to bring about the possibility of this new home, and while not being able to appreciate the needs of the Association one hundred years hence, we feel that the foundations have been laid broadly and will be adequate to all demands for full 25 years and possibly 50.

It has been our aim to make possible a Christian training school for rising generations of Colorado Springs people and if we have been able to uplift our youth in even a small degree, we feel amply repaid for our efforts.

Possibly some members of the Board who will read this, have been influenced to a better life through the Association work, and still others may have been brought to a knowledge of Christ through the same agency.

Our efforts may seem small to you in view of enlarged opportunities but you can rest assured that on this fifth day of August, 1901 the Young Men's Christian Association is as entergetic [sic] and forward as any organization in existence.

Trusting that God will greatly multiply the seed we have sown and that you will be enabled to carry on the work in a much larger way, we remain

For the welfare of Young men
The Young Men's Christian Association

Recording Secretary.
