Colorado Springs
Sunday Aug. 4th 1901

Dear Nurse,

In the year 1887 I commenced my duties as trained Nurse & to my great surprise found I was the first, in the mere "Village of Colorado Springs" now the beautiful City of the Plains.

I was soon more than fully occupied & now there are over a hundred Trained Nurses. Untrained a Legion, Kept busy. In the fourteen years there has been built the Glocknor Sanatorium 'St. Frances Hospital', 'the Bellevue', at present held by the Deaconess's of Chicago & also the Weatherhead Private Sanatorium.

Miss Lucy A. Codd Graduate of Edinbargh Royal Infirmary Also of Uni. Versi. Hos. London England & Member of the Royal British Nurse's Association
