1901. State Convention, Colorado Springs. International Convention, Cincinnati.
Colorado Springs, Colo. August 3, 1901
To the Twenty-first century Christian Endeavorers of Colorado:
In preparation for the beginning of the Twentieth century, the Christian Endeavorers of the state listened to President Francis E. Clark's "call to prayer for a great awakening", remembered the appeal and for nearly two months before the shutting of the door of the nineteenth century and the opening of the door of the Twentieth century engaged in united, earnest, persistent and unwearied prayer for a new revival, while the closing hour of the old century was entirely devote to united prayer for this special blessing.
These prayers have had a powerful influence upon the young people of Colorado, while the Twentieth birthday of Christian Endeavor which was remembered on February 3rd 1901 as Christian Endeavor Decision Day, many were reminded of their pledge "Trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for strength I promise Him that I will strive to do whatever He wold like to have me do", and resolved to live nearer to their Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
It is the prayer of the present 8,613 Christian Endeavorers of the state that at the opening of the Twenty-first century the Christian young people of Colorado may be found faithful in the service of the Lord Jesus Christ and that Colorado may be known as a thoroughly Christian state.
"May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all." Is my prayer.
Yours for "Christ and the Church,"
H. R. Chapman
