Mrs. Helen Jackson,

Dear Madam: We are much pleased to receive your favor of July 4th and what you say therein about the book is entirely satisfactory. You will before the receipt of this have heard from Dr. Holland in regard to "the serial" and from what Mr. Gilder tells us we are inclined to think that you will consider his answer as favorable.

We therefore expect in time to get the Book and as previously stated we feel quite sure that a new story of length by Saxe Holm will take well with the public

We remain

Yours very truly

Scribner, Armstrong & Son
Rosita, Col.
