11th March.

Dear Mrs. Hunt,

You are so kind that I venture to ask you to take some trouble for me; a less benevolent person than yourself might escape. -

I am hoping & supposing you are much stronger than when you left Boston last November; with much pleasure I heard from Mrs. Gilder this was the case, shortly before I left New York. - I arrived in England the beginning of February - am staying with my sister Mrs. Gerald Blies. Her husband has made large purchases of land in New Colorado and has also interest in a Company called the Mountain Ball Investment Co., & in his interest I want to know from a reliable authority, that is you, what is the present current market value of property in New Colorado, & Colorado Springs, - & what is the prospect for this new country; - is property likely to fall in value or to increase, - is the place going to be a failure or a success; - I mean a speedy success as a settlement for invalids or a fashionable watering place. - If you can give me this information without putting yourself to very great trouble, I shall be much obliged. - I find England delightful, but at present I see one of my country's best places, as my sister's country home is an epitome of comfort & refinement, the product of centuries of wealth. I expect to return to the States next June, & if there is anything I can do for you in England please tell me, & I will do my best to see to your commissions. With my best regards believe me, dear Mrs. Hunt very truly yours

Rose W. Chapman.
